Hardware Repairs
Notebook / Laptop Repairs
Preventative maintenance – Notebooks require servicing at minimum once per year. A general service will include a total strip and clean of the notebook, inside and out. The cooling fans and intakes will be thoroughly cleaned out. This service will prolong the life of the notebook.
Repairing a notebook is often more economical and more convenient than purchasing a new one, for a start it will be set up exactly as you like with all your important documents, photos, music etc.

| Overheating |
A large percentage of notebook failures are caused by overheating. A thick layer of dust and lint forms on the fans and blocks air
intakes. We will strip the notebook and clean out the entire cooling system. A relatively inexpensive repair that will most likely save
you from having to replace the motherboard sometime down the line. |
| Liquid Damage |
Turn the notebook off immediately. Although it may soemtimes seem as if the liquid has had no negative effect on the notebook, a short
could occur at any time while the liquid is still inside. The notebook must be stripped and all components solvent washed. |
| LCD Screen Replacement |
A broken screen does not mean your notebook has to be replaced. We have cost effective replacement screens for all makes

| Backlight | Is your screen growing dim? Screen backlights can become faulty from impact, heated conditions,
or simply through time. A full screen replacement may not be necessary. Let us take a look at it first. |
| Power Problems | Faulty power adapter? Most of the time these can be repaired. Bring it in
to us for testing. Original manufacturer as well as high quality compatible batteries and power supplies can be supplied to replace faulty or old units. | Hard Drive Problems | Hard drives can be replaced. Various sizes are available. If required, and providing that authentic software is supplied, Supima can also reload your operating system and software such as Micorosft Office. If data was retrievable, then data transfer can also be carried out. We do not handle accounting or proprietary software. If drivers cannot be supplied and are not available at Supima, an additional hour labour will be charged for downloading them. |
| Memory Upgrades | Want to upgrade your notebook's memory, let us know the exact make and model of notebook and we will provide a
quotation and lead time. Once the new RAM arrives, we will fit it into the notebook. RAM is most often very specific
to the notebook so it is always best to purchase RAM that has been tested and certified to work with your specific notebook. |
| Software / Operating System Problems | Supima's software technicians can assist in solving operating system problems (Windows 98, XP, Vista, 7 etc), virus and spyware
removal, or just a general health check. |

Printer Repairs
We repair and service Inkjet, LaserJet, Multi-function All-in-one, and Dot-matrix printers.
Many people’s first reaction to a printer failure is to purchase a new printer – it’s cheaper, it’s convenient, it’s a quick solution. But is it? In many instances we have found that this is not the case. By knowing that Supima is here with the expertise to repair your printer, it then becomes very convenient to carry out a repair. With Supima’s very reasonable pricing structure, it is most often far cheaper to repair than to purchase new. Especially if you have spare consumables – toners, cartridges, ribbons. Monitor Repairs
This includes repairs to LCDs as well as older CRTs
Repairs include:
- Total strip - Board level repairs
- Where economically viable, it may be possible to replace the LCD panel
Please note: If an LCD starts giving problems, bring it in straight away. If the problem is left unattended for too long, it is highly possible that the monitor will no longer be reparable.

Software Repairs
Software repairs are Microsoft based.
Technical support covers:
- Removal of viruses and spyware and restoration of system activity
- Configuration and trouble shooting of software
- Data recovery - where possible, data will be backed up and transferred onto a new hard drive
- Installation of software or other programs purchased from Supima or for which the original installation disks are provided by the client
- Data transfer
It is very important to have a high quality and up-to-date antivirus program like ESET NOD32, as well as an adware and/or spyware removal program like Spybot or Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool installed on every computer.
