NETWORK CABLING
IT infrastructures seamlessly connect devices, applications, business processes and people, and allow effortless sharing of information, thereby breaking
down barriers within an organisation and promoting better collaboration and therefore greater productivity.
Often we greatly under value the importance of our network cabling infrastructure. When it comes to our company’s IT infrastructure, cabling is most often
the lowest cost purchase we incur and yet it forms the backbone upon which the performance and reliability of our daily data communications takes place.
It is utilised every minute of every working day making the consistency of its performance of utmost importance.
It is thus that you require a reliable, professional company to assist and guide you every step of the way, a company that can provide you with after service
and support far into the future. Supima Computers has been around since 1972, and will continue to be there for you.
Our skills and experience mean that Supima is able to offer an entire solution, beginning to end - one company that does it all.
Whether your requirements pertain to new or existing network infrastructures, our in-house team of network consultants and technicians are here to assist with the planning, design and installation of your company’s structured cabling system.
Whether you are moving into a new building, relocating offices to an already existing building, growing your company through physical expansion, or simply rearranging your current layout and wanting additions, moves and changes made, Supima is here to make it all happen - from running a single cable to multi-floor installations, including the provision of network equipment and peripherals such as switches and server cabinets (wall mount to full height)
Wherever required, an initial site survey is carried out, after which the network is designed in collaboration with YOU - the client, and a tailor made solution is put together to best fit your needs. Testing can also be done to analyse network vulnerabilities, after which recommendations are made for network improvements.
Cable management:
With time a company’s server room undergoes many changes, often resulting in cabling and cabinets becoming untidy. Supima is available to assist with cable
management through the tidying of server cabinets, testing, labelling and relabeling of network points, and repairing of faulty
points.
A great deal of network faults are cable related. If you suspect a faulty cable or network point, let us test and repair it for you.
The more common cable categories for voice and data networks:
CAT 5e
Today’s most common choice for voice and data cabling. Cat 5e cables can be laid to reach a maximum length of 100 metres and can handle data transfer up to
1000 Mbps.
CAT 6 and 6a
Growing in popularity and backward compatible with CAT 5e. Cat 6/6a cables allow faster data transfer than CAT 5 cables with a maximum of 55 metres when used
for 10GBASE-T
There is a common misinterpretation that by laying Cat6 cables, an all gigabit network will automatically be in place. But this is only the case if every single element within that network is gigabit enabled, as a network will always run at the speed of the slowest piece of equipment.
Fibre Optic
The most significant advantages of fibre over copper are an increase in the amount of data it can carry with less signal degradation over greater distances.
However, fibre should not automatically be seen as the first choice when installing a new network. Due to fibre cable being far more expensive to purchase,
install and support, its offerings may be excessive for its intended purpose.
Supima’s end-to-end service does not end there. It can be prearranged that once data cabling is complete, Supima’s team of network administrators with all the expertise and resources can continue with installation and configuration of your company’s computers, servers and network peripherals. These aforementioned items can also be supplied by Supima and given the scale of the project, a financing solution can be arranged.
Additional services:
Air-conditioning
It is vitally important for server rooms to be kept cool so to protect the equipment they house, which is in constant service and that holds a company’s bank of valuable information. Supima will commission air conditioning units that ensure optimum temperature conditions are maintained, in order to guarantee continued functioning of vital technological assets.
Raised Access Flooring
Raised access flooring can be installed throughout an office building or in specialised areas such as a company’s server room, and is especially well suited to
large businesses where organised cable management is of utmost importance to the efficiency of the network and the maintenance thereof.
Removable floor panels rest securely atop a metal substructure or adjustable height supports. Access flooring can be installed at varying heights depending on
the intended use of the space below it and the volume of cables it needs to house. The space between the concrete slab and an elevated floor makes it easy to
neatly run network cables and other electrical services, while keeping them both hidden and easily accessible.
Fire Safety
To ensure the safety of your company’s valuable assets and information, Supima will commission the highest quality fire detection and fire protection services for your server room.
With the entire project being handled by Supima Computers, it means better service, less hassle, and only one service provider to deal with, to ensure that all your requirements are met.
